ESSENTIAL RESEARCH
The role of Helicobacter pylori in urticaria and atopic dermatitis.
Conclusion: These results provide some evidence of a relationship between H. pylori infection and both chronic idiopathic urticaria and atopic dermatitis. Treatment of infection demonstrated by reduction in C-urea breath test and anti-H. pylori antibody titers resulted in partial improvement of clinical symptoms in patients with atopic dermatitis.

Impact of Helicobacter pylori on the development of vitamin B12 deficiency in the absence of gastric atrophy.
Conclusion: The findings provide strong evidence that H. pylori infection is associated with cobalamin deficiency, and show that this is true even in patients with non-ulcer dyspepsia and minimal or no gastric atrophy.

Antibiotic resistance of Helicobacter pylori in Chinese children: A multicenter retrospective study over 7 years.
Conclusion: The resistance rates of H. pylori in children from southeast coastal region of China were very high to metronidazole, moderate to clarithromycin and levofloxacin, and low to amoxicillin and furazolidone. It is important to continue monitoring the resistance profiles of H. pylori isolated in this region.

Negative Effect of Proton-pump Inhibitors (PPIs) on Helicobacter pylori Growth, Morphology, and Urease Test and Recovery after PPI Removal--An In vitro Study.
Conclusion: Proton-pump Inhibitors exert transient negative effects on H. pylori viability, morphology, and urease test. Accordingly, cessation of PPI consumption at least 12 days before endoscopy could help avoiding false-negative results of H. pylori diagnostic tests.

Antibacterial resistance and the success of tailored triple therapy in Helicobacter pylori strains isolated from Slovenian children.
Conclusion: The primary resistance rates of H. pylori to CLA and MET in Slovenia are high. Our data strongly support the fact that in countries with high prevalence of resistant H. pylori strains susceptibility testing and tailored therapy is essential.

Symptoms returning after antibiotics
I had 14 day antibiotic treatment and felt so much better within 24 hours, like a new person. Treatment finished and within 2 weeks all previous symptoms began to return. Now waiting for re-test result. Is it likely that the treatment failed or could it be recovery symptoms?
